What to Expect in Your First Session
It’s normal to feel uncertain before your first session.
You may be wondering what you’ll need to say, how much to share, or whether it will feel uncomfortable.
This page is here to gently explain what the process looks like — so there are no surprises.
Before the session
Once your session is booked:
• You’ll receive clear details on how the online session works
• You don’t need to prepare anything special
• You don’t need to write your story or relive experiences beforehand
Coming exactly as you are is enough.
At the start of the session.
We begin slowly.
• We’ll check in and settle the space
• You’ll be invited (never required) to share what feels most present for you
• There is no pressure to go into detail
• You are always in control of what you share
If you’re nervous, quiet, emotional, or unsure — that’s okay.
During the session
Each session is guided by safety, consent, and pace.
You can expect:
• A calm, grounded conversation
• Gentle questions to help clarify what you’re experiencing
• Support that works with your nervous system, not against it
• Practical tools when appropriate
• No forcing, no pushing, no re-traumatising
When trauma-focused work is involved (such as the Rewind Technique), it is done carefully and respectfully, without reliving or overwhelming experiences.
What this work is not
This is important to name.
• You will not be pressured to talk about anything you’re not ready for
• You will not be judged, analysed, or “fixed”
• You will not be rushed through your healing
• You will not be expected to have all the answers
This is a collaborative process — we work with you, not on you.
After the session
People often report feeling:
• Lighter
• Clearer
• More grounded
• Tired but settled
• Or simply relieved
Everyone’s experience is different, and all responses are valid.
You may receive:
• Gentle reflections
• Optional grounding tools
• Suggestions to support you between sessions
Nothing is required unless it feels helpful.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number.
Some people come for:
• A few focused sessions
• Short-term trauma processing
• Ongoing support and growth
We’ll regularly check in and adjust based on your needs and goals.
If you’re still unsure? Uncertainty is part of the process.
You’re welcome to:
• Start with one session
• Ask questions before booking
• Explore the free assessments first
There is no pressure to commit beyond what feels right for you.
When you’re ready
If this approach feels safe and aligned, you’re welcome to take the next step.
