Trauma therapy doesn’t have to mean reliving painful memories.

This work is focused on helping your nervous system process what it no longer needs to carry, in a way that feels safe, respectful, and contained.

What trauma is?

Trauma is not only defined by what happened — but by how your body and nervous system experienced it.

Trauma can develop when:

•   An experience felt overwhelming, frightening, or out of control
•   You didn’t feel safe, supported, or able to respond
•   The body stayed in survival mode long after the event passed

This can show up as:

•   Anxiety, panic, or hypervigilance
•   Emotional numbness or shutdown
•   Intrusive memories or strong reactions
•   Difficulty feeling safe, calm, or present

Trauma responses are not weakness — they are protective survival responses.

How the Rewind Technique works

The Rewind Technique is a gentle, structured trauma-processing method designed to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories without re-experiencing them.

In simple terms, the technique:

•   Allows the memory to be revisited at a safe distance
•   Helps the brain recognise that the event is over
•   Reduces the emotional and physical charge linked to the memory

You remain present, aware, and in control throughout the process.

This is not exposure therapy, and you are never required to describe traumatic events in detail.

Why this approach is gentle and non-retraumatising

Trauma-informed work prioritises safety above everything else.

With the Rewind Technique:

•   You do not relive the trauma
•   You do not re-enter overwhelming emotional states
•   The work is paced carefully and respectfully
•   Your nervous system is supported throughout

Sessions are guided calmly, with regular check-ins to ensure you feel grounded and safe.

What sessions feel like?

Sessions are structured, steady, and supportive.

You can expect:

•   A calm, grounded environment
•   Clear explanations before anything begins
•   Choice and consent at every stage
•   Gentle guidance rather than pressure
•   Time to settle before and after the work

Many people describe sessions as:

•   Surprisingly calm
•   Relieving
•   Emotionally lighter
•   Grounded rather than overwhelmed

Everyone’s experience is unique, and all responses are respected.

Who this approach can be helpful for?

Trauma therapy using the Rewind Technique can be helpful if you are experiencing:

•   PTSD
•   Single-incident trauma (accidents, assaults, medical events, sudden losses)
•   Complex or developmental trauma (with careful pacing)
•   Ongoing anxiety linked to past experiences
•   Strong emotional or physical reactions that feel out of proportion
•   A sense of being “stuck” despite trying to move forward

This approach is especially helpful for those who want trauma support without being pushed to relive painful memories.

How I work

My work is trauma-informed, client-centred, and ethically grounded.

I work at a pace that prioritises:

•   Safety
•   Consent
•   Nervous system regulation
•   Respect for your lived experience

Nothing is forced, and you remain in control throughout the process.

When you’re ready

If this approach feels aligned, you’re welcome to take the next step — gently and at your own pace.
